Mahoning County ARES
Federal Emergency Management Agency Training
ARES has established a three-level training spectrum for our
volunteers. Basic is the entry level into ARESĀ®, includes skills learned when obtaining an Amateur Radio license and basic course work. Intermediate is the skill set desired by ARESĀ® obtained through coursework and training.. Advanced is an increased skill set that initiates a pathway to leadership positions and assignments. MC ARES Members need to print out a task book to track and document their training levels. MC ARES leadership will verify and sign off on each completed element. The MCARES task book can be downloaded here Mahoning County EMA requires all volunteers to complete the four NIMS courses and IS-288. We encourage all volunteers to complete the IS 100, 200, 700, 800, and 288 courses. |
